Lyrics For Saxophone Trains
I wrote this song in the middle of a hard winter, I had given up any job I had to do some touring and was SO broke.... the little house I"d moved into with my love was right on the train tracks. We thought the sound would keep us up at night but then we found it kind of cathartic.....
I think of the song as a sort of lullabye for hard times.
SAXOPHONE TRAINS Amelia White
Baby fall asleep in my arms, winters coming down hard tonight In this little house we rent by the train tracks
Baby dream sweet to the sounds, sounds of the saxophone trains They’ll take you away into tomorrow
I know it’s been a bitter pill and the cards in our hands are not lucky But I swear I see a better day So baby fall asleep to the sounds of saxophone trains
A little bit of furniture came, the TV and the chair with three legs There’s not much that we have but we’re together -
Something ‘bout the sound of these trains
They growl like the blues through the rain and you’ve always said Blues make you feel better.
