Video & Lyrics: "Beautiful and Wild"

This song is the title track of the new album...

It was written when I found out how sick my good friend Duane Jarvis was ... it turned out he was not much longer for this world.

He was a man who lived by his music and poetry, and kindness. He  always had an encouraging word, and I think he touched so many artists and people in his life that his spirit remains strong.

when I first moved to Nashville I met him and over the years we instantly were friends. Over the years we were to write a song, play shows, eat good beans and rice, drink beer, and walk on Venice Beach together.

D.J. played with Lucinda Williams, he also wrote with her. He played with Rosie Flores, John Prine, the Divinyls, and Frank Black. There were many more.

When I heard how sick he was and spent one last afternoon with him in Nashville I was struck by how fragile life is, and how we should never take it for granted!

Here are the lyrics:

BEAUTIFUL and WILD  by Amelia White

Plum colored petals in March, blossoms snowing gently on my front porch. I think of you waiting by the sea, I hope that your body sets you free

Nobody, not even somebody knows- when she wants you, you'll be the next one to go. She'll lay you down to sleep just like a child -her  wings will be so beautiful and Wild

Songs are like castles in the air, can't touch them but they're everywhere. your ears and your fingers led the way, and all these years she's listened to you play

Nobody, not even somebody knows-when she needs you, you'll be the next one to go

she'll lay you down to sleep just like a child -her wings will be so beautiful and wild

she'll lift you up and take you like a child -your wings will be so beautiful and Wild
