The McKeesport Daily News- Review of Beautiful and Wild
— Being a big fan of Americana music, I’m surprised (and more than a little disappointed) that I knew nothing about singer/songwriter Amelia White before getting a chance to hear “Beautiful and Wild,” her fifth studio album. She writes a lot about love gone wrong on the 11-track release and the music and words are equally affect-ing. After a middling start with “Skeleton Key,” White settles in nicely and serves up a series of standouts in “Sidewalks,” the title track, haunting ballad “Saxophone Trains,” “Molten Fire,” “Madeline” and “Rider Ghost.”
You can bet White will be on my radar from here on out. -
